SEO measurement

How to measure SEO results before paying for automation

The right proof period tests the full path from accurate content to a crawlable page and measurable visitor behavior. Article count alone is not evidence of return.

Define the baseline

Record current indexed pages, impressions, clicks, average position, organic sessions, key events, and technical page-health status before publishing the proof set.

Publish a coherent proof set

Use several related articles rather than one isolated draft. Keep the topic, audience, product links, and measurement window consistent so changes are interpretable.

  • Use real product facts
  • Review every article
  • Record publication dates
  • Keep URLs stable
  • Avoid unrelated site changes during the test

Read leading and lagging signals

Crawl success and impressions are early signals. Clicks, engaged sessions, key events, and revenue take longer and depend on demand, competition, and site conversion quality.

Decide with explicit limits

A thirty-day window can show whether pages are being discovered and attracting early traffic, but it cannot guarantee long-term rankings. Continue only when the quality, workflow savings, and observed signals justify the recurring cost.
